Community Field Trip

We began our community field trip at the U.S. Post Office in Boyle, MS.
We had an important errand to do there!

Postmaster John Kyle sold
everyone a stamp so we could mail our letters.

Thank you, Mr. Kyle, for your kind service to our community!
In this day of email and texting, it's nice to know you can still get a REAL letter!

Pssst! PDS teachers, some of you may have something special in your mailbox at school next week!

Our next stop was the newest Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department station.
Mr. Hardin and Mr. Rodgers were top-notch!

It was FUN hands-on learning with some of their equipment!

Thank you, CVFD!  We appreciate your faithful service to our community!

Hmmm. Let's see... What is another important part of our Delta community?
Of course, it's farming!
Mrs. Robin McKnight did a super job coordinating this part of our field trip!

We loaded up and headed to Mr. G.R. Hardin's special shop.
Wow!  His collection of antique farming toys and tractors is amazing!

Then, it was time for a hayride!!!

Our destination?

We ate our picnic lunch right next to a field
where Mr. Nat and his crew were harvesting rice!

After lunch, we happily got to work!!!

Thank you, Mr. Nat and Mrs. Robin!
Many thanks to all the farmers for your service to
our community, our country, and the world!

 Next?

Mr. Sledge met us at The Apple Farm.

Mr. Sledge shared his wisdom,
apples, apple juice, and prizes with us!

Thank you, Mr. Sledge!
You have served our community,
our state, and our country in extraordinary ways!!!

Whew!
If you think it's time for this trip to be over, think again!

We are on our way to the Maple Street Fitness Trail!

After a one mile fun run/walk, we enjoyed Mrs. Angela's beautiful cookies, a honeycrisp apple, and cool water!

Then, we returned to PDS.

PDS is another very special place
in our community and our hearts!

Yes indeed, our Cleveland community
is full of interesting places and wonderful people!
